My name is Alexandra, and I am an experienced content creator, copywriter, and editor, with a background in travel writing.

I have nearly 6 years’ experience in content creation and copywriting for the Publications team at the Flight Centre Travel Group. My team produced a suite of yearly travel brochures, covering a range of destinations. My role here included research, copywriting, editing supplier-provided copy, sourcing and editing images, and liaising with various suppliers in order to create inspiring and effective content. Flight Centre has strict brand guidelines, so I have extensive experience in adhering to both a style and standards guide. I have excellent attention to detail for both research and writing, as well as editing, and fact and sense checking.

I have experience in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, along with Microsoft Office, the Google G-Suite, and WordPress, so I’m proficient in the use of all of these programs. I also have experience using Adobe Photoshop, and am comfortable with the basics, however I’m not quite a Wizard yet.

Apart from having been writing for the past half-decade, I also have a degree, majoring in Journalism, Tourism Management, and International Relations. This means I have a solid, educational background on which my writing, editing, and business management skills have been built. I’ve completed a Mini MBA in marketing, to allow me to better understand marketing principles including targeting, SEO and data analytics. I’ve also recently completed an IT Masters Short Course in Digital Marketing Analytics through Charles Sturt University.

I have experience in both branding and rebranding, having assisted in rebranding the Flight Centre Travel Group brochures from Infinity Holidays (an internal wholesale brand), to Flight Centre (our external retail brand). This meant implementing a full brochure redesign, creating a new brand voice, and supporting a new product strategy. It also meant overhauling the previously mentioned style and standards guide, to ensure the new brand style and voice was consistently implemented in the context of the brochures.

I work well autonomously and have experience in project management and scheduling, in order to keep my workflows and deadlines in check. I’m currently using Trello for all my current projects and business management, but also have experience with Asana.

Finally, I have significant experience in relationship management and collaboration. From external stakeholders, such as a proofreader, printing company, and storage and distribution company, to internal stakeholders, as well as in-destination suppliers (both domestic and international), I’ve maintained many professional relationships.
